PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC TECHNOLOGY
EV POWER MODE
When driving in EV (all electric) mode, Outlander PHEV’s innovative design allows it to run as an electric vehicle. You’ll experience zero fuel consumption and zero CO2 emissions, while enjoying a serene, quiet ride without loss of performance.
SERIES HYBRID MODE
The highly efficient 2.0 litre petrol engine charges the battery while the battery powers the wheels.
PARALLEL HYBRID MODE
The petrol engine takes over for high speed motoring, longer journeys or steep hills.
TWO POWERFUL ELECTRIC MOTORS
Kinetic energy which is generated whilst braking is also used to recharge the drive battery. As soon as the accelerator pedal is released the motors function as power generators. Six* levels of regenerative braking can be selected via paddles mounted within fingertip reach of the steering wheel.

CHARGE & SAVE
You can choose how and when the battery is used with the touch of a button. When the engine is engaged, the Battery Charge mode continuously charges the battery. In Battery Save mode the engine will maintain the charge you have, allowing you to save the battery charge for later.
ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE & BRAKE AUTO HOLD
A pull up to apply/push down to release switch replaces the traditional handbrake lever. The Brake Auto Hold function makes stop/start driving in heavy traffic easier, by avoiding the need to keep your foot on the brake pedal while stationary.
ON DEMAND AWD
For improved traction and stability, you can press the 4WD LOCK button to simulate locking of the centre differential, equally distributing torque to all four wheels for improved traction and stability on slippery surfaces.
A free app for your Smartphone (Android or Apple)* lets you remotely control your Outlander PHEV Exceed from the comfort of your home. You can monitor the remaining charge time, control the charging timer settings, check the alarm, turn on/off the parking and headlights, and even turn on the heater or air conditioning or set if for later, all from the comfort of your living room.
*Exceed models only. The vehicle and Smartphone need to be interconnected within a Wi-Fi area. Some Smartphones may not be supported.
LANE DEPARTURE WARNING (LDW)
The Outlander PHEV Exceed’s Lane Departure Warning uses a camera to issue an audible alert and shows a warning on the multifunction display if your vehicle drifts from its lane while the turn signals are not operating.
FRONT* AND REVERSE SENSORS AND REVERSE CAMERA
All PHEV models feature reverse camera and rear parking sensors. When reverse gear is engaged, the reverse camera image appears automatically in the dash and sensors warn you if you’re getting too close to objects behind you. Exceed models also feature the convenience of front parking sensors*.

REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT (RCTA)*
Outlander PHEV Exceed’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert system helps detect a moving vehicle when reversing. It alerts you via a buzzer sound, and an indicator light appearing in the combination meter and a blinking light in the side door mirror.

AUTO HIGH BEAM
The Outlander PHEV Exceed features automatic high-beam for added safety, comfort and driving ease at night. It detects both the headlights of oncoming vehicles and the tail lights of vehicles ahead, automatically switching between high and low beams.
FORWARD COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM (FCM)*
Forward Collision Mitigation System (FCM) on Exceed models detects obstructions ahead and issues a visual and audio alert when there is danger of collision, automatically applying the brakes to avoid collision or reduce impact.

MULTI AROUND MONITOR*
Outlander PHEV Exceed’s Multi Around Monitor provides a 360° bird’s-eye view of your car. The views from cameras mounted on the front, rear and sides of the vehicle (including bird’s-eye view) can be displayed in various combinations to reveal what is in blind spots and help you park more safely.
ULTRASONIC MISACCELERATION MITIGATION SYSTEM (UMS)*
The Outlander PHEV Exceed’s Ultrasonic misacceleration Mitigation System reduces the chance and severity of hitting obstacles 4m in front or behind a vehicle when a driver mistakenly presses the accelerator when stationary or at speeds of up to 10km/h.
* Exceed model only. Please drive safely and never rely solely on these systems while driving. Ultrasonic misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS) may not activate in some situations. The engine output control activates when driving; 0-10km/h (not in N or P Position); obstacle/vehicle is within approx. 4m range; accelerator pedal is pushed hard or abruptly; driver is not turning to avoid obstacle/vehicle. The detection and control capabilities of UMS are supplementary only and do not prevent misacceleration in every situation. Please read the operation manual carefully and be aware of these limitations. It operates when a vehicle or obstacle is within an approx. 4m range and is not designed to detect motorcycles or pedestrians, but may detect them and activate in some situations.
BLIND SPOT WARNING (BSW) AND LANE CHANGE ASSIST (LCA) SYSTEMS*
Change lanes with confidence with the Outlander PHEV’s Blind Spot Warning system. In addition, the Lane Change Assist system sounds an audible alert and displays a blinking warning in the door mirror when the system detects a high collision probability with a vehicle coming from behind moving to the same direction within 3.5m from PHEV’s side or 70m from its rear bumper.

The detection and control capabilities of BSW and LCA are supplementary only and do not warn you of vehicles in blind spots in every situation. BSW and LCA may not activate in some situations. Please read the operation manual carefully and be aware of these limitations. It operates when a vehicle is in a rear, right or left blind spot and is not designed to detect motorcycles or pedestrians, but may detect them and activate in some situations.

"Procurement of Blacktown Council’s large leaseback car fleet encompasses the recommendations set down by the “Green Vehicle Guide” - emissions and ANCAP ratings are an important selection criteria. Staff are offered a wide range of car options with “incentives” to choose low emission vehicles. These options include hybrid, alternate fuel and electric vehicles.
In 2015 Council provided staff with the incentive to take up a lease option for the Mitsubishi plug-in-hybrid vehicles (PHEV). 9 PHEVS were leased at the time, staff are very happy with the vehicles low fuel consumption, drive-ability, performance and comfort. Our staff are very excited about receiving the new 2017 version PHEV which will be delivered in March 2017. We have been very proactive in obtaining these vehicles, this has led to installing 12 electric charge stations for staff and the public. Electricity used in our electric charge is supplemented by solar panels installed on the adjacent buildings. Council has approved the installation of 10 “smart poles” with electric vehicle charge-points in the Blacktown City area. These will be free-of-charge to staff and the public for the first 3-years after which a user pays system will apply.
